Fire Blanket

Fire blankets are made from fire-resistant materials that can withstand high temperatures without catching fire themselves. Common materials include:

• Woven fiberglass: This is the most common material for small, household fire blankets. Fiberglass is incombustible and can resist temperatures up to 550∘C or more. Some blankets may have a silicone coating for added protection and durability.
• Wool: Larger, industrial-grade fire blankets may be made of wool, sometimes treated with fire-retardant chemicals.
• Kevlar: This material is also used for its heat and flame-resistant properties.
• Silica yarn: Some high-performance fire blankets are made from texturized silica yarn, which can withstand temperatures over 1100∘F (593∘C).
